Hydrography Research Group, now part of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), was founded by Prof. Dr. Ing. Sjamsir Mira in the 1980s. Within the past years, we have been carrying out researches on coastal management and national maritime boundaries. We have also been actively supporting hydrography and oceanographic-related lectures outside of ITB, such as Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Angkatan Laut (STTAL), Pusat Pendidikan Hidrografi-Oseanografi (Pusdik Hidros), and Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA).
